While some other chicks are vying for song of the summer, Nicki Minaj’s “Pills N Potions” is on track to claim another title — bummer of the summer — but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking artists who’d like to add their own spin to it.
Gone are the pink wigs and speed raps about starships. In Nicki Minaj’s new video for her latest single, “Pills n Potions” the rapper is showing off her coping skills.
Perhaps it was American Idol that put her over the edge, but Nicki Minaj has promised that her third album, The Pink Print, will mark her return to hip-hop. “I’ve been getting back to that place where I was before I dropped my first album which is ‘kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill everything,’” Minaj said in an interview from earlier this year. “I agree that Nicki Minaj should focus on rap… now.”
“Even though you out here looking so ungrateful,” she raps, “I’m a keep it moving, be classy and graceful.”
Nicki Minaj claims she is making everything more real for her forthcoming album, from her make-up to her verses.

This latest single from the upcoming Young Money compilation follows previously released tracks from Drake and Nicki Minaj.
She posted it to her Instagram account, revealing that the artwork would include a photo of civil rights leader Malcolm X taken for Ebony magazine in 1964. In the photo, X is holding a gun and peeking out the blinds of a window.
With her new video, Nicki is letting all the men out there know, they can look, but can’t touch.
