‘Tough Love’ is the name of Ware’s first major release.
It’s been more than a minute since Miguel’s track “Simple Things” came out — way back in February as part of the Girls soundtrack. Still, today (May 29), he decided to release an elegant black and white video for it.
First came Miguel’s “How Many Drinks” from his 2012 album Kaleidoscope Dream. Then there was the remix, which found Kendrick Lamar on the track with a rap verse and got the track a radio single release and a No. 6 peak on the Billboard Hot 100.
Other artists included to appear on the soundtrack include Oasis, M Ward, Aimee Mann, Jake Bugg, Father John Misty and Vampire Weekend covering Bruce Springsteen.
Steven Tyler, P!nk, Lady Gaga, Sara Bareilles, Zac Brown, Miranda Lambert, Miguel and Alicia Keys were among the many artists who paid tribute last night to one of the greatest songwriters of popular music.
For anyone who follows Miguel on Instagram you may have noticed an interesting pic he posted today (Jan. 22) of him and a few friends in a recording studio. Those friends being Jessie Ware and J.Cole.
The soundtrack will also include songs from Lily Allen, M Ward, Beck and Christina Perri.
In an interview with the ‘Girls’ music supervisor, he reveals that they got Miguel to record a new song for the show and how Rihanna helped Icona Pop happen.
