Hurricane Irma continues brewing in the Caribbean. Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Bahamas are bracing for what seems to be a devastating storm that’s currently quite healthy due to the warm waters that continue to strengthen this type of system. Although, for the most part these types of storms tend to lose strength once they hit land in this particular case because Irma is so strong it looks as if even that were to happen we would still be dealing with a MAJOR hurricane.
Friends, I’m not asking you to panic but please prepare. From now until November we are in what looks to be a very busy hurricane season. Here are some things you will need.
1.Water! Lots of it. Fill your bathtubs, old bins and anything you can. You’ll need at least 3 gallons of water per person. Enough to last each at least three days.
2. Canned food. Don’t forget the can opener.
3. Cash, with power gone you may not have access to an ATM machine plus…you may need the dinero to buy stuff on the fly.
4. All of your important documents in a safe dry place. Easy to transport in case you have to leave home.
5. Batteries, candles and a battery operated radio.
