This “All The Feels” is a win-win for everyone!
Little kids are learning to read in the “Shelter Buddies Reading Program,”while helping shelter dogs learn to socialize at the Humane Society in Missouri.
Assistant Director, JoEllyn Klepacki says “Dogs in a shelter environment exhibit a lot of signs of anxiety and show stress signals, so we wanted to do something to comfort them, and we have a lot of children in our area who are really engaged and ask, ‘How can I help? How can I make a difference?'”
Kids from the ages of 6-15 go through a training program that teaches them understand the dogs and their body language.
