I’m not sure if this is a 90’s babies thing, but what is up with this pop up wedding trend?
My cousin got married this past weekend, which is amazing. What’s not amazing is the fact that she didn’t invite me until the last minute!
The same thing happened to my best friend. Her cousin literally told her that she was getting married the week before it happened. She then called the whole thing off, deciding to have an engagement party instead. THe problem with this is that she failed to tell her guests until the night before!
Now I’m the first to say that going broke for a wedding is crazy, but at least be considerate enough to give your guests an opportunity to be there for you.
I get it. You’re in love, and at the end of the day it’s all about you marrying the love of your life, but don’t give me grief for not being able to make it when you’ve given me a week to find an affordable flight across the country.
Millennials, the next time you decided to have a pop up wedding, instead of stressing us out by trying to put together this grand event in so little time, do us all a favor and just elope. Then you can invite us to the dinner, reception, house party, cookout or whatever you decide to have afterwards. Thanks!
