Leinonen received his bachelor’s and master’s in psychology and Guerrero was a pre-finance student when he passed.
Today we were given another example of our community standing strong together–UCF unveiled this beautiful mural honoring the Pulse victims. It features two UCF alumni who were amongst the 49 victims who lost their lives. Thank you @ucf.edu for your help in keeping our community united. Link in bio has more details. #orlandostrong
According to a release, UCF will be installing a mural of them in the Student Union to “honor them and to serve as a tribute to the spirit of love and hope that united UCF and the community in the aftermath of Pulse.” The mural was created with the victim’s family.
Today, June 8 is “UCF Remembers Day” and here’s a list of the events taking place at UCF all day:
- “Reflections on Pulse” at the Student Union from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where you can create and share a tribute to the 49 victims.
- “UCF Remembers” at the Student Union from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the blood drive.
- “Resilience: Remembering Pulse” at the UCF Art Gallery from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. where the exhibition will feature paintings, photos and more to honor Pulse victims and the LGBTQ community.
- This exhibition will run until June 30.
The UCF events are free and open to everyone and some events will be live-streamed on their Facebook page.
