Insane Cocktail Flavored Doughnuts

 

The Doughnut Project launched “Cocktail Series” for five straight weekends they will honor five of its favorite NYC bars with doughnuts that match a specialty cocktail from each bar.

The alcoholic pastries are only available at the Doughnut Shop, unlike the doughnuts in its “Restaurant Series.” Co-owner, Leslie Polizzotto said she knew that after the “Restaurant Series” they wanted to do a “Cocktail Series” where they would create doughnuts inspired by cocktails from NYC’s coolest bars.

Co-owner Troy Neal said that he’s gotten good feedback and he conducted the research to determine which cocktails could be translated into a doughnut. “We use all of the ingredients from the cocktail to make fillings, glazes, toppings and garnishes for the doughnuts.”

The series begins with: The NoMad Bar’s “Start Me Up.” It’s a cocktail with bourbon, rum, honey, ginger, orange bitters and lemons. The doughnuts honor the drinks: “The Bennet,” “Death & Co.,” “The Dutch,” and “Maysville.”
