It was announced today that the GRAMMY Awards will be returning to New York City in 2018. The awards show, to be held on January 28, 2018, will mark its 60th anniversary with its return to New York City.
The last time that NYC hosted the GRAMMYs was in 2003. For the past 14 years, the GRAMMY Award ceremony has been held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.
To announce the move, a short promo by Spike Lee highlighting New York City’s integral part in the music industry, was released.
“I’m honored to be a part of this homage to the city I love, that is welcoming the 60th anniversary of the Grammys into its big warm arms,” Lee said. The ceremony will take place at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
