Confession: I’m a black girl who can’t dance.
I know you didn’t think we existed, but we do; so before you make assumptions, let me explain my plight.
When I say I can’t dance, I mean that when I hear a beat, the movement that my body decides to naturally fall into may or may not look like I’m having a seizure.
Don’t get me wrong. If taught a routine, I can make it look good, I am not, I repeat, I am NOT the person who claps off beat at concerts and in church.
I have rhythm, I just can’t dance. Here’s the proof for those of you who don’t believe!
I tell you all this to say that I think that I have found my theme song. Nicki Minaj posted a snippet of Amanda Hackey rapping about how she can’t dance, and I instantly fell in love.
The song is a bit vulgar, so if you want to check it out click here.
