The Estate of Anthony Barre is suing Beyonce for $20 million claiming that she took portions of lyrics without giving credit and can be heard in the beginning of her Formation video, according to Forbes.
“What happened at the New Orleans” and “B—, I’m back by popular demand” are the lyrics heard in Formation. They claim that they reached out to her and got nothing in return.
Along with Beyonce, Sony Music and Jay Z entities are also being sued. Specifically Mya’s sister from the estate wants proper credit as “writer, producer, and performer.”
It’s clear as day that Mya’s lyrics are in the intro, so Bey’s counsel might try to come to an agreement. We will keep you updated on what happens!

“My first thought was, ‘At my age? No way! When I turned 30, I was like, ‘This is the last time I’m posing in a new bathing suit! When the issue comes out, I’ll be 63. I thought, ‘Those days are over.’ But to get to do it with my girls, ‘I thought one last go!”

How many years ago, I was that insecure girl hoping that I would be good enough for the magazine. So to see my daughters now having the same thoughts I had, and to be able to see them actually be there on the job, was definitely a big moment."
