College seems so much cooler than it was when I attended.
The highlight of my college course career was the day when the campus wildlife center taught our environmental biology seminar class, and we got to interact with all the different animals.
Nowadays, kids at Washington University have the opportunity to take courses about Kanye West! Yes, you read right, there is now a course offered that tries to get students to understand what is going on in the mind of Kanye West.
The class will run for 14 weeks, and right now there are about 75 student registered for the course, and a number of others on the wait list.
According to the PressRoomVIP, the course will be taught by Professor Dr. Jeffery McCune, and his syllabus reads:
In McCune’s syllabus, topics like, “Who is Kanye West and Why Is He in the Flashing Lights?,” “Father Stretch My Hands, or How Hip-Hop Takes Us to Church,” and “Love Lock Down, or Hip-Hop’s Queer Love Languages” will be discussed. He says that he also created the course to appease his students who have shown a love for Kanye over the years.
This is so unfair. I would have loved to take a class that explored the greatness of Beyonce or the genius of Michael Jackson. Instead, I got college algebra.
Well, even though “The Art of Ranting,” isn’t a topic, I’d still be interested.
How about you?
