Lady Gaga is performing at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, but rumors are swirling that there may be some issue with her performance plans.
It was reported Tuesday that the NFL instructed the outspoken and anti-Trump singer to not speak or make reference to politics during her performance. However, an NFL spokesperson is telling TMZ this.
“This is outsourced nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none. The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together. Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this.”
Well, with that being said , I’m more than curious to know what Gaga plans to do at the Super Bowl. The halftime stage is no strange to artists using the platform to make political statements. Juts last year, Beyonce acknowledge police brutality and the killing of unarmed black men during her performance, and Coldplay even wore a rainbow piece of cloth to show their support of gay rights.
Gaga has been very vocal about her disapproval of President elect Trump, so on February 5, I know I’ll be watching to see if she mentions or alludes to making any statements.
