Throughout the night, each artist performed their hits, covers and collaborations separately before joining together for an impressive finale of “Live Your Life.”
Questlove is the executive producer of the show, which is hosted by Diplo. In between sets, each artist is shown in an interview setting, commenting on how surprised they are that the three acts and sounds actually work in the live TV setting.
“The lineups are really, really different,” London Grammer’s Hannah Reid said after her performance. “We actually did clash but it worked so well.”
Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz agreed. “It’s the closest thing to a festival experience on television,” Wentz said. “It’s cool to check out.”
Fall Out Boy kicked off the night with “Young Volcanoes” while London Grammer slowed down the evening with a stripped-down performance of “Wasting My Young Years.”T.I. followed suit by getting everyone in the crowd dancing with the energetic “Bring Em Out.”
