So, anyone that knows me knows that I love to eat. I’m Italian…so, DUH!
Usually ( especially since I’ve moved to Florida and especially since it’s summer) I have been eating super heatlhy…until last night.
What I had last night…there really is no way to describe, but I’ll try. I won’t make a habit of doing what I’m about to tell you I did…but to say it was worth it is an understatement. I ate…the BEST CHEESEBURGER that I’ve ever had.
Now, when I say the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had…I mean a no frills, true cheeseburger.
I know there are gourmet burgers out there with caramelized onions and goat cheese and truffles and all sorts of fancy things. I’m talking about a regular ole…down home… true to it’s form…basic cheeseburger and it was ..let’s see I don’t want to over sell this…..AMMMMMMMMMMAZING!
It all started when I went to a dive-bar after work with my friend Nick and we decided to go grab a burger after.
He took me to The Hideaway on Virgina Ave and said, “This place isn’t anything fancy, but they have amazing burgers.”
Whenever someone says that to me I always think…okay, how do you mess up a cheeseburger? Trust me…it’s possible.
We went inside and I contemplated getting a turkey sandwich, but Nick insisted I get a cheeseburger. So, I did. Preceded by fried banana peppers…GOOD LORD that’s a different blog all together. I dreamed about those things (as you can tell it was a night of healthy eats).
When my cheeseburger came, Nick asked for some hot sauce. If you know me at all you know that I put Franks Hot Sauce on EVERYTHING (if you can’t read between the lines…it was Franks Hot Sauce)!
I politely introduced Frank to the burger along with his friends lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, ketchup and mustard. This was going to be something special…I could tell.
I think I actually looked at Nick and said, “Don’t look at me while I eat this, because this is going to be something crazy.”
I could NOT believe how amazing this burger was. I don’t know if it was because I was so hungry, or because it was actually that good, or because Franks Hot Sauce makes everything taste amazing. OH! And I put potato chips on the burger…just in case it didn’t have enough fat and carbs…I thought I’d add a few more. BOOM! Just when I thought the burger couldn’t get any better.
I thought my mouth was on fire bc of all the Franks, but it was totally worth it.
I went to bed dreaming about that burger. I woke up dreaming about that burger. I loved it so much I WROTE A BLOG ABOUT THE DARN BURGER.
Anyway…the burger was awesome and today is a little bit sadder because I have not yet had that burger for the day.
I know the saying isn’t : A Burger A Day Keeps The Doctor Away : But it would be a lot cooler if it was?
