Selena Gomez revealed the final details behind her forthcoming album, Stars Dance, which will be released worldwide on July 23. Yesterday (June 3) during her live YouTube chat, she also premiered the album artwork in a 20-second clip.
The album will drop the day after her 21st birthday, and Gomez said much of the music was inspired by her time filming the dark coming-of-age film Spring Breakers, released earlier this year.
“I went to Ultra, which was this fun techno festival in Miami, and that inspired me for the record since I’m super into dance,” she said. “I’m getting into more of my choreography, which has been fun because I don’t really like working out and I think dance is a good way to stay active so I’m just going to stick with that.”
During her live chat with fans, she was asked to describe her album in one word and she offered two: therapeutic and confidence. “I’m in a good place and I think this album reflects that,” she said.
