Florida Senate Committee Passes Bill To Ban Loud Car Stereos

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – Hoping to silence the window rattling bass thump from drivers who like to play their music at concert levels, a Senate Committee has signed off on a measure which would make it illegal for drivers to blast music from their cars stereos.

A similar measure approved in the past was struck down by the Florida Supreme Court which ruled the law violated free speech rights partly because it exempted vehicles used for business or political purposes.
