They say imitation is the ultimate compliment, but when it comes to a multi-million dollar industry…you’d think copying an existing video would be a no-no.

Rihanna has released hit after hit since she burst onto the music scene a few years ago and her music videos have also achieved great success.

So when it comes to artists and their music videos, if it works once…perhaps do it again?

In the video for “We Found Love,” Rihanna and a male actor (made to imitate Chris Brown) are seen being happy and lovable in some scenes and then other scenes show the downside of a breakup.

The video follows the up and down relationship between two lovers.

But check out the new video from Carly Rae Jepsen. While we love her to pieces, we can’t help but notice the same theme and even similar locations the video takes place.

The bathtub, the bedroom, a roof top, market area, restaurant, a car, even the way the video was shot, all mirror the Rihanna video.

It makes you think…”Is Hollywood out of creative ideas?”

What do you think…did Carly copy Rihanna?
