It’s time for college students all over the country to start gearing up for Spring Break, making plans for their wet and wild getaway for 2013. In honor of the occasion, COED.com has once again ranked the top 15 trashiest Spring Break cities, and three of them fall right along the I-4 corridor!
In coming up with their listings, the website based their rankings on “Girls Gone Wild, bike weeks, Hooters, tattoo parlors, etc.” Not surprisingly, Florida contributed over half of the cities to the list. But let’s just take a look at those in our own backyard.
Coming in at #11 is Tampa. According to the site, Tampa was home to one of the wildest spring breaks ever in 2012. They also point out the town’s proximity to St. Pete, the shooting location for the upcoming Selena Gomez film Spring Breakers.
Orlando comes in at a dis-respectable #5 on the list. The site points out that while the theme parks may seem family friendly, there’s plenty of alcohol there to keep the party going. The downtown bar scene was also singled out as a highlight of Spring Break in Orlando, but they also mentioned that Orlando comes in at #1 on the list of Most Dangerous Spring Break Locations. That distinction was given based on the rate of fatal accidents and police incidents over the last 10-years.
Finally, Daytona checks in at #3 on the list, referring to an Orlando Sentinel article calling it the “undisputed party capital of underage drinkers.”
