Forget “Gangnam Style” and “Call Me Maybe” video tributes. The latest video dance meme to dominate YouTube is the Harlem Shake!

The original Harlem Shake was a dance from ’81 which also found its way into some rap videos of the 2000’s. But the current version is something else all together.

Set to the music of electronica producer Baauer, it got its start on YouTube earlier this month with this vid that is thought to be the first of its kind.

Following versions, which became huge in college dorms and campuses, usually find a masked or helmeted person starting the dance while the rest of the people in the room act as if they’re clueless to what’s going on. But as soon as the music hits the break, everyone gets in on the action.

Not surprisingly, the dorm editions also seem to take the opportunity to shed a few layers of clothing in the process.
