Omarion made his name for himself as a member of the new millennial boy band B2K who went solo back in 2005. Now the singer, who is signed to Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group, plans to reintroduce himself to the world the way Beyoncé and Michael Jackson once did.
“This is the real grown-up me,” the singer, who calls himself Maybach O, told Billboard. “This is that age when Beyoncé had ‘Crazy in Love’ and Michael Jackson had ‘Thriller,’ when Justin Timberlake had ‘FutureSex/LoveSounds.’ I feel like I’m at that age. I can’t wait to display this new me.”
Earlier in November, Omarion announced the in-store date for his Care Package EP along with the release of his new video for “M.I.A.,” a song from the Maybach Music Group’s compilation Self Made Vol. 2.
“A lot of my fans are adults and have children and lives,” he said. “It’s really interesting because they still come out and support, the fans that used to chase my car. I think they ready.”
Care Package will be Omarion’s first official release as a member of Rick Ross’ MMG and will drop November 29. —E. Parker, CBS Local
