3OH!3 Return And Marry Fans In “You’re Gonna Love This” Video
3OH!3 is back with a new single off their forthcoming album Omens. Their latest song, “You’re Gonna Love This” is a bass heavy electronic track with familiar vocals from bandmates Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte.
The video takes place in Vegas as the duo try their luck at the casino, golfing and at the wedding chapel trying to make a hole in one with everything they shoot. Nat and Sean show their competitive streak, both trying to impress the same girl with trick shots.
Shortly after 3OH!3 debuted the music video they chatted with fans in Google Hangout to reveal how the video came together. The band wanted to perfect each take and spent a couple of hours on each take.
“Some of the shots obviously took a long time and there was a point with some of the shots that we were going to abandon the whole idea,” Sean confessed. “The frisbee shot took 60+ tries of throwing that in the auditorium and we didn’t have enough time. Literally it was the last time that it landed in the bin and everyone went absolutely insane.”
Sean also spent some time in a helicopter for one of the features.
“I was nervous, but it was fun,” he said. “Plus being able to toss something out of it. I was so nervous I was going to throw the ball into the blades and it would go down.”
Since they were in Vegas for the filming, the band spent a lot of time at the casino.
“We were in the casino doing it the whole time,” Nat said. “They would shut down a couple tables and you could see them getting pissed as we missed shots. It was crazy. We wound up on the roof of Planet Hollywood which was overlooking the whole 360 view of Las Vegas. It was pretty impressive. It was nice to be able to get a new perspective on a place like that.”
In addition to gaining a new perspective on Las Vegas, the band married two lucky fans.
“In the wedding scene those two people are getting married,” Sean revealed. “We put out a Craigslist [ad] to find a fan and see if they wanted to get married in a chapel. I had to sit there and toss the ring into this dude’s hand 30 times and if I missed they wouldn’t get married so I had to do it and there was so much pressure.”
A few takes included the groom being hit in the face with the ring he threw.
“They were just sitting there waiting to be pronounced bride and groom. They were waiting for the final kiss and I felt like such a jerk,” Sean said. “It’s cool because when they kiss it’s actually them getting married in the video.”
What wasn’t shown in the video was the behind-the-scenes of the couple, but Nat filled fans in.
“They actually had a pretty touching story,” he said. “They didn’t have enough money to get married and so we got them married. They had a bunch of kids there and they had a little baby that we were taking care of during the ceremony.”
3OH!3’s new album is due out October 30 and they have a fall tour in the works.
