Frank Ocean has canceled the European leg of his Channel Orange tour, including a high profile 10-city trek with rock heavyweights Coldplay.
In a statement released to the press, the singer was effusive in his disappointment over the decision to cut the tour short.
“Let me start by saying I feel like an a**hole right now,” Ocean said of the show cancellations, which will also affect dates prior to the Coldplay tour (see list below). “But a tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months and the casualties of that decision include my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot on the European leg of the Coldplay world tour. Sorry as f***, I’ll be back if you’ll have me.”
According to Billboard, Ocean, who recently dropped his acclaimed debut Channel Orange, abruptly ended his set at Oya Festival in Norway on Friday (August 10) due to voice issues.
No official word yet if Ocean will make up any of the canceled shows in the future. For a complete list of the shows Ocean has canceled, see below.—Keith Murphy, CBS Local
