Lil Wayne Calls Truce On Pusha T Beef: “I’ll Move On”

Lil Wayne is burying his beef with Pusha T. While he won’t apologize for his response, the YMCMB leader said his back-and-forth with the rapper signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint is done.

“There’s no beef,” Wayne told the AP during an event at Los Angeles Macy’s department store on Tuesday (June 19). He was there to promote his skateboarding-inspired clothing line Trukfit.

“I just finished recording my I Am Not a Human Being II album,” he said. “And we’re starting to work on the Young Money album. … It really wasn’t no beef, you know. It was just me. I just reacted. Just a reaction, a simple reaction. I don’t apologize for it because I’m human. But it was just my human reaction. I don’t take it back…beef is a whole different thing. … I’ll move on.”

The war-of-words bubbled over in June when Pusha T released the Drake-aimed diss track “Exodus 23:13.” The song and controversial video addressed the MC’s position as a signee to Wayne’s Young Money record company via Baby’s Cash Money with such sneering lines as, “You signed to one n**** that’s signed to another n****/ signed to three n****s, now that’s bad luck.”

Weezy promptly responded on Twitter proclaiming to his more than 6 million followers, “F*** pusha t and anybody that love em.” He followed up that statement with his own diss record, “Goulish.”

But Lil Wayne is ready to turn the page and focus his energy on more productive exploits, such as his Trukfit line and developing his personal style.

“I do not consider myself the most stylish rapper out there,” he said. “I’d say if I had to consider someone the most stylish rapper out there, I would definitely say that would be a Kanye West or a Andre 3000… Yes it [my style] has evolved because I was one of the guys that would geek chic it every now and then. … Now I’m just more into whatever works for me. I think that’s just age.”—Keith Murphy, CBS Local
