TLC Flirts With Left Eye Hologram For Upcoming Tour

TLC attempted to shed some light on their possible “hologram”-enhanced tour, joining the growing ranks of the hologram-curious artists such as Dr. Dre and the Jacksons, who are flirting with the idea for national tours.

When TMZ reported that surviving group members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas would add the two-dimensional video projection (which has been called a hologram) of deceased member, Lsa “Left Eye” Lopes, they quickly sent out a tweet to dispel the chatter.

A rep for the group attempted to add more clarity.

“The image is not a hologram,” the rep told E! News. “The girls have done shows before with footage of old performances showing Lisa performing with them on a screen as they perform.”

However, later in the evening, T-Boz didn’t rule out the possibility.

“We tried seven years ago,” she wrote. “It was too expensive. But if the budget permits, we might.”

All the hologram talk began after a projected image of Tupac hit the stage at Coachella festival April 15, as part of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s set. The controversial showing sparked rumors of an impending tour. Much like TLC, Dr. Dre also attempted to clarify the hologram’s future, but neglected to rule out an encore.

Likewise, the Jacksons are flirting with an idea of a Michael Jackson hologram for their upcoming Unity tour. But none of the parties, including TLC have confirmed the hologram.
