Orlando Magic CEO Bob Vander Weide Retires

With rumors swirling about Dwight Howard’s future up in the air, the Orlando Magic are facing more tumultuous news today as CEO Bob Vander Weide has stepped down.

Alex Martins has been promoted from team president to CEO.

Vander Weide has been the Orlando Magic President/CEO since 1994. He has been with the Magic since 1992 when he was the Vice President of Basketball Operations.

The reason for Vander Weide’s departure is unknown at the time, but it’s hard not to imagine that it may be linked to the trade rumors over All-Star Dwight Howard.

Vander Wiede resigns, will Dwight re-sign? What do you think?
