The hit song “I’m a Boss” by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rick Ross[/lastfm] was not originally meant for him, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm] reveals who she really wrote the song for.

According to HiphopDX.com:

The Young Money rapstress says she recorded the cut for Weezy but that he passed on it.

While on the set of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Birdman[/lastfm]‘s upcoming video for “Y.U. Mad,” Nicki Minaj revealed that Rick Ross’ recently released “I’m a Boss” was actually intended for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lil Wayne[/lastfm]. Speaking with MTV News, the Harajuku Barbie spoke in the third person about the song’s trajectory and that it’s actually almost three years old.

“You know what’s interesting about that song,” she said. “Nicki had originally did that song for Wayne two and a half years ago. And then it was just lingering and she gave it to Rick Ross and he passed on it for his first album. And then he just picked it up for his second album. And I think it’s hot.”

The song is set to be included on Ross’ upcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t, releasing December 13th.

Why is Nicki talking about herself in the third person like she didn’t show up to do the interview? What’s the point of that?! We see you!!
