[photogallerylink id=49002 align=left]Rihanna‘s controversial video for We Found Love isn’t the only Ri Rh vid in the news this week. Back in February we reported that fashion photographer David LaChapelle was suing Rihanna due to the fact that many of the scenes filmed in her video for S&M were taken directly from his photographic works. Rolling Stone is now reporting that an out of court settlement has been reached in the $1 million suit filed by LaChapelle and that he is “happy” with the outcome.
Specific results of the lawsuit filed against Rihanna and Def Jam were not available but LaChapelle’s publicist has said that it was settled for an undisclosed sum.
When the lawsuit was filed, LaChapelle said:
I like RiRi. This is not personal, it’s strictly business. Musicians commonly pay to sample music or use someone’s beats and there should be no difference when sampling an artist’s visuals.
