J. Cole Expected To Hit #1 On Album Charts Next Week
[photogallerylink id=14125 align=left]Fans of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]J. Cole[/lastfm] are in for a big day tomorrow. A handful of lucky JAMZ listeners will be able to hang with the rapper before his Friday night show at The Beacham. But it’s going to be an even bigger week for Cole himself, as Billboard.com is reporting that sales of his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, are anticipated to shoot the Roc Nation/Columbia artist to the #1 position on the Billboard album charts next week.
If he does hit the #1 spot as expected, it will be the first time that a solo artist hit #1 their first week on the charts since [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]B.o.B.[/lastfm] managed that feat in May of 2010. Current sales estimates place Cole World at 240-250,000 copies the first week. When B.o.B. accomplished that feat, he had only sold 84,000 copies.
