Former Orlando Magic player Ben Wallace was arrested this week and is now facing a DUI and Weapons charge. He has yet to decide on retiring from the NBA or keep on playing at age 39.
According to USAToday.com:
Ben Wallace suddenly has much more important issues to worry about than the NBA lockout or whether he’ll retire. The Detroit Pistons’ big man faces a potential 5-year prison sentence after police found a concealed weapon in his car when he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
The Detroit Free Press reports the unloaded pistol was in a backback when Wallace was stopped Saturday in Bloomfield Township. Wallace, 37, is expected to be in court Monday.
Police told the Free Press that Wallace already has been arraigned on a 93-day misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. Police wouldn’t specify results of Wallace’s breath test, and Wallace didn’t respond to text messages. Police also said they haven’t released video of Wallace’s arrest because the case is pending.
The NBA lockout needs to end soon!! We went through this same thing when the NFL locked its players out!!
