[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]John Legend[/lastfm] has been singing and doing a little bit of acting on the side too for years, and now he has developed a television sitcom and made himself the Executive Producer!

According to HiphopdX.com:

The singer-songwriter ventures into television with his upcoming comedy show.

R&B singer John Legend has closed a deal with NBC to bring his single-camera comedy project Mixed Blessings to NBC.

According to Deadline.com, Legend with executive produce the show alongside former NBC executive Teri Weinberg. Legend and Mike Jackson are executive producing through their Get Lifted Film Co.

The show, based on Jackson’s childhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, focuses on “a prominent, black, street-bred hip-hop artist enjoying his single life who discovers that he has a teenage son and decides to connect with him and his white suburban family.”

It will explore the “culture clash and the complicated journey of a father and son beginning their relationship as the dad soon discovers that fame, talent, and wealth get you nowhere when it comes to parenting.”

I met John a few times before and it didn’t seem to me like he was teh type of guy that knew much about humor. But then again you never know how people are when all the spot light is off of them.
