Comedy JAM 3: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About D.L. Hughley

Hughley[/lastfm] will be one of the three headlining comedians when Comedy JAM 3 presented by 888 MAC-THAT hits Jamlando on Thursday, November 17th at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre.  You probably know D.L. Hughley from his ABC/UPN sitcom The Hughleys or The Original Kings of Comedy, but there are probably some other facts about this funnyman you’re not aware of.

1. His full name is Darryl Lynn Hughley.

2. He was born in Los Angeles, California on March 6, 1963 to Audrey and Charles Hughley.

3. He was the original host of the BET stand-up comedy show Comic View.

4. In 2005 he had a talk show on Comedy Central called Weekends at the DL.

5. He has had roles on the TV shows Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and on NBC’s Scrubs.

6. He delivered a tearful eulogy at the funeral of one of his best friends, King of Comedy Bernie Mac, in 2008.

7.  He has been married to LaDonna Hughley since 1986.  The couple have three children: Ryan, Tyler and Kyle.

8. He hosted a CNN show called D. L. Hughley Breaks the News that covered global happenings in politics, entertainment, sports and pop culture.

9. He recently hosted the D.L. Hughley Morning Show on radio station WRKS-FM NY.

10.  And finally, he has filled in for Whoopi Goldberg on the Hot Topics segment of ABC’s sometimes controversial morning show The View.
