[mp3com-artist]Drake[/mp3com-artist] has truley made his mark on Canada, so much that he is to receive the Allan Slaight Award which is Canada’s Walk Of Fame Award.

According to HiphopDX.com:

AllHipHop reported earlier today that Drizzy recently received Allan Slaight award from Canada’s Walk of Fame. The award honors Canadians who have displayed excellence in the fields of sports, literature, music and the performing arts.

The Allan Slaight award comes with a $10,000 honorarium prize, which Drake will present to the charity organization Dixon Hall. The Toronto-born rapper/singer recently released a statement on his latest win, saying that he’s proud to be honored by home country in such a fashion.

“I am a proud Canadian, and I am grateful to Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Slaight Foundation for this award,” he said.

The Director of Canada’s Walk of Fame Peter Soumalias also commented on the award, saying, “At 24 years of age, Drake has already achieved what has taken others a lifetime to do. He is kind, smart, talented, philanthropic and driven. He is an inspiring example to all, and we are proud to recognize him this year as our young Canadian making a positive impact.”

It’s great that Drake’s home country is honoring him in this manner, because who knows how long it will be before he gets a Grammy or even to make the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame! Like a life time!!
