[Lollapalooza 2011 Review] Success Was ‘Written In The Stars’ ‘Till I’m Gone’ For Tinie Tempah
We have a writer on the ground of music’s most epic summer concert: Lollapalooza!
I knew [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Tinie Tempah[/lastfm] was going to be one of the biggest things to happen to hip hop the second he walked into AMP Radio’s studios late last year.
It wasn’t just his charm, accent and stellar good looks but the fact that he had that magic that truly successful artists have. Tinie Tempah had the IT factor.
And that IT factor was on fire at Lollapalooza’s 20th Anniversary Celebration when he emerged on the Google+ stage as the sunset.
I’ve seen Tinie Tempah perform multiple times this year, including at Southern California’s biggest music festival, “Coachella” and there was always a newness about him.
But at Lollapalooza, the 22-year-old seemed like a seasoned veteran, taking the stage and dictating not only the stage, but the crowd.
Tempah performed songs off his debut album Disc-overy while raining merchandise & t-shirts while the crowd went wild for a tiny bit of the Brit. Clearly, this time next year, Tempah will have a chance to romance his fans on one of the main stages.
Spin wasn’t kidding when they said Tempah was a “must see” at this years Lollapalooza, but I already knew that. Let’s hope you do too and don’t pass up a chance to see him perform his hit “Written In The Stars” while he’s still touring stateside.
