Legendary hip hop artist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kool Moe Dee[/lastfm] gets back into the studio to get back to work on a new album. He’s currently out on the ‘Legends of hip hop tour’ and has been tellings fans about the new project he’s been working on.

According to Allhiphop.com:

Legendary rapper Kool Moe is planning a full fledged return to the rap game, with a new album of studio material in the works.

Kool Moe Dee is currently on tour with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Salt-N-Pepa’s [/lastfm]Legends of Hip-Hop Tour, which also features legendary rappers like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Doug E. Fresh [/lastfm]and[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Kurtis Blow[/lastfm].

“I’m getting ready to launch this whole big Kool Moe Dee extravaganza,” Kool Moe Dee told The Fayetteville Observer. “I’m in the studio working on an album right now and working feverishly on the treadmill to get the weight off myself. I’m very, very meticulous about how I present and the increments I present it in.”

The rapper, who is known for his membership in the pioneering Hip-Hop group [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Treacherous Three[/lastfm], also enjoyed a successful solo career.

Kool Moe Dee recorded Hip-Hop classics like “Go See the Doctor,” “Wild, Wild, West” and his 1987 hit record “How Ya Like Me Now,” which came out of his legendary battle with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]LL Cool J. [/lastfm]

According to Moe Dee, fans can look forward to his new album sometime this year. Until then, he will use the Old School Tour to keep his skills sharp.

“The old school tours are fine,” Moe Dee said. “They get my feet wet. But from way back when, I could study the audience and feel what’s missing and feel that void. I have some great ideas. I think I’ll be really really ready by this fall.”

What’s not being said is who he may have guest starring on the album with him or is it gonna be all Kool Moe Dee 100% of the album. Nor is he saying which producers he’s working with…He’s keeping a lot of info to himself til the album drops.
