[photogallerylink id=24276 align=left]It seems that Denzel Washington and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Will Smith [/lastfm] are set to remake ‘Uptown Saturday Night’, a 1974 comedy that originally starred Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier. These two have been linked as being very close for a long time, so close in fact that Denzel has baby sat Will’s kids on many occassions!

According to Hiphopwired.com’s sources:

It looks like Will Smith is following in his wife’s footsteps.

As previously reported, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Willow Smith[/lastfm] and[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Jada Pinkett [/lastfm] are remaking the film Annie for their daughter Willow.

Will Smith is also in talks about remaking a classic, of the 1974 comedy Uptown Saturday Night. Will Smith is to produce the movie, and star alongside Denzel Washington.

The two will have leading roles, who’s original production consisted of Bill Cosby and Sidney Poitier for those leads.

The story is about two friends who get robbed, loosing their wallets in a night club. Throughout the movie the two buddies try to get their hands on their lost winning lottery ticket.

Directed by David Dobkin of the film ‘Wedding Crashers,’ and is expected to hit theaters in 2014.

A new buddy movie with these two in it? Should be a major hit in the theaters in my opinion as well. I already can’t wait to see what craziness will jump off dealing with Denzel and Will!  Take a look at a clip from the original Uptown Saturday Night.
