When your album comes with a personal recommendation from Clive Davis, the chief creative officer of Sony Music and a legend in his own right, you know you have friends in high places. [lastfm]Jennifer Hudson[/lastfm] is that special type of artist who can actually back up this level of hype.
[photogallerylink id=39686 align=left]Her hotly-anticipated sophomore album is out today, and it appears she will prove Clive right. With standout singles like “Where You At” and a start-studded roster of producers at her back, Hudson is poised to dominate the album charts in 2011.
I Remember Me is the follow-up to Hudson’s 2008 self-titled debut. That album debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts and earned her a GRAMMY for Best R&B Album in 2009. That shiny bauble presumably sits next to her Oscar on the star singer’s mantle. Not a bad collection of bling for the 29 year-old star.
[pullquote quote=”I’ve called it ‘I Remember Me’ because of the journey I’ve been on. I’ve learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans.” credit=”Jennifer Hudson”]A host of big-name producers and writers dropped in to contribute to this album, including Ryan Tedder, [lastfm]Alicia Keys[/lastfm], Rich Harrison, [lastfm]Ne-Yo[/lastfm] and Stargate. Tedder even helped create the album’s title, which is based on a poem he and Hudson co-wrote. That poem, titled “I Remember Me,” eventually became a song by the same name, which became the title track.
