Bill Cosby STILL Has A Beef With Russell Simmons!
[photogallerylink id=39612 align=left]Bill Cosby has a beef with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Russel Simmons [/lastfm]that he won’t let go, despite Russell’s public apology. All who grew up with The Bill Cosby Show have this idea of him as the father we always wanted. Rich, well groomed, drug free, smart and even tempered. But is that who he really is?
According to Hiphopwired.com:
The beef still cooks between actor Bill Cosby and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.
According to Simmons he tried to quell the animosity between the two at the recent Jackie Robinson Annual Awards Dinner where both attended, but Mr Huxtable wasn’t having it.
Simmons recounts the failed apology that went nothing like he planned in his blog on Globalgrind.com writing…
“I wanted to find him to apologize, to tell him I was sorry about my statements and to tell him that I loved him.”
But instead the Def Jam co-creator says when he went to apologize Cosby told him, “Get the [bleep] out my face!”
Simmons goes on further in his blog to claim that Cosby even gave him a shoulder shiver when they crossed paths at the event, saying Cosby, “walked by me and bumped me with his shoulder as I walked offstage after presenting my award to Sean Combs, who was honored at the event] . . . I then loved him even more.”
The two men have had an ongoing misunderstanding since 2009 when Cosby launched his “State of Emergency” campaign calling for the clean up of hip-hop lyrics. Simmons vocally opposed Cosby’s campaign but was apparently ready to let bygones be bygones at the recent Jackie Robinson event.
It seems Cosby, however, still holds a grudge. Reps for Cosby refused to comment on the incident.
Simmons then tweeted this yesterday:
Wow! I’m shocked that Bill is holding such a grudge against Russell after all this time! He is the one who taught most of us to forgive and forget as Mr. Huxtable, but I guess as Bill Cosby, it’s more difficult to actually pull off than even he could physically handle at this time. That patience was simply part of his TV world.
So be careful Mr. Cosby the next time you step up in front of a bunch of impressionable minds and give advice on life and how to make it through the hard personal times. Lead by example!
