Our friends in Florida are on the scene of the greatest Spring Break ever, and they’re sharing their adventures with you. Check out their coverage of the wildest Spring Break bash of the year, WiLD Splash.
You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to kick off Spring Break. Beautiful weather, a venue by the water, 15,000+ Spring Breakers and some of the biggest names in Hip Hop make for one unbelievable party! WiLD Splash 2011 was everything it was hyped up to be and more. Now that the recovery process has begun, let’s look back at the acts that made WiLD Splash what it was.
Santino was the opening act for WiLD Splash. The winner of the 2010 Hip Hop Draft Pick made his presence be known by going all out on his performance. He was all into his crowd and seemed to not take any of it for granted. He loved every single moment of being on stage.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lil Kee[/lastfm]
Lil Kee gradually brought his entourage on to the stage to perform with him. Strizzo, Javon Black and Shawty all helped Lil Kee hype up the crowd for their performance. They sang numerous songs and even brought Lil Kee’s son on stage for his birthday, an act that I’m sure that little boy will never forget by having the entire crowd wishing him a very happy day.
The Rej3cts were in a whole different category as a performance. They were literally all over the place and didn’t leave one spot on the stage untouched. Break dancing was their unique distinction from the other acts. They had an amazing stage presence and showed fan appreciation by greeting fans off stage during the performance and cracking jokes in between songs.
Mann was the fourth act to hit the stage, and it was his first time performing in Tampa. Mann hyped the crowd up using some old school beats to get the energy up and then set it off when he dropped “Buzzin”.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ace Hood[/lastfm]
Ace Hood, originally from Broward County and brought extremely good energy to the stage, even Orlando was dropping verses and moving to the beat of the song on the stage. The crowd lifted their hands in the air to song and had the lyrics down. There were chants of Tampa going through the immense crowd. The most memorable moment was when he brought Orlando to the stage and thanked him for supporting him through his dreams.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Fat Joe[/lastfm]
Fat Joe made a quiet entrance but ultimately brought the house down. The crowd went crazy while he was representing Puerto Rico and New York throughout the first song. And then he took them back with hits such as “What’s Luv?” and “Lean Back” and that’s exactly what the crowd did! You could see the wave in the crowd of fans singing to the song and leaning back to it. Fat Joe was extremely into the crowd and they lost it, especially when he paused the music and the crowd sang the actual verses to the songs. He had amazing stage presence like no other!
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Keri Hilson[/lastfm]
Keri Hilson brought sassiness and sexiness to the stage with her bright unique fashion. She’s pure beauty and being the only woman to perform at this year’s event. She definitely knows how to work the crowd and tried to involve them in her performance. She sang her hits, “Put Your Money Up,” “Million Dollar Girl,” “Knocks You Down,” and “The Way I Are.”
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Wiz Khalifa[/lastfm]
Wiz Khalifa surprised the crowd. No one knew when he would be hitting the stage after what seemed like a long intermission between the hot acts. His entourage helped hype up the crowd by jumping to the beat; while Wiz performed many underground mixes. He waited to the very end of his set to sing his biggest hits, “On My Level,” “Roll Up,” and “Black and Yellow.”
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm]
The last performance of the night was everything it was built up to be. The long wait finally came as a big explosion with Snoop Dogg’s grand entrance. Fortuna with the bass thumping stronger and stronger each moment and then Snoop started dropping the lyrics. He sang hits such as “Gin and Juice,””P.I.M.P.,” “I Wanna F*** You,” “Hail Mary,” “Two of Amerikas Most Wanted,” “Ain’t No Fun,” and “Sensual Seduction.” Towards the end of the set, VIP female fans had the chance to share the very same stage with Snoop while dancing to his beats. The crowd went wild singing to his songs.
Overall, WiLD Splash was the most epic Spring Break event ever. Stay tuned for videos from the night and pictures of the fans.
