Last.fm Trends: The Sky’s The Limit For Jason Derülo
Jason Derülo has made a very successful career transition this year. Moving on from writing hits for other acts, he released his debut album Jason Derülo and even gained a place in Last.fm’s Best of 2010.
Last.fm Trends takes a look at his time in the spotlight…
Derülo’s debut album has racked up 832,347 scrobbles this year, placing it at #26 on the Best of 2010 chart. Debut single “Whatcha Say” is a clear favorite amongst listeners, even featuring twice in his six-month chart with an acoustic version.
After 2010 it doesn’t appear that we’ll see less of Derülo: his Recent Trend graphs show massive jumps in weekly listeners in late September and early November, months after the album’s release.
These collide with his first live shows in Europe and Australia, and with more shows promised for 2011 it doesn’t look like he’ll be going back behind the scenes in a hurry. Best of 2010 is Last.fm’s countdown of the hottest new music, based on your scrobbles.
#40 – #21 were revealed on December 1st, with the top twenty to come over the following weeks. Find out more now, at Last.fm.
