I first gotta start by saying I LOVE [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Common[/lastfm], I do, ooh he don’t know lol!!! Pero/But let me tell you my boo has been picked to host The 2010 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in DC.

It’ll take place at the Ellipse at President’s Park in Washington D.C., and will be broadcasted throughout the United States on Public Television, on December 9th at 5:00 PM

In addition to Common hosting, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Maroon 5[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]B.B. King[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sara Bareilles[/lastfm], 10-year-old [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jackie Evancho[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jim James[/lastfm] will perform during the 2010 National Christmas Tree Lighting.

The National Park Foundation is a federal organization that owns 84 million acres of the U.S.’s most treasured landscapes and historic sites, in over 400 national parks.

The news of Common’s involvement with the 2010 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony comes amidst news that the 38-year-old rapper is penning his first memoir, titled One Day It’ll Make Sense
